Yunnan Hojicha|云南焙茶・烘炒绿茶
A rare Chinese twist on a beloved Japanese tradition.
Yunnan Hojicha is a deeply roasted green tea crafted in the highlands of Yunnan. Using fresh local leaves (often large-leaf Yunnan varietals), this tea is pan-roasted over charcoal or wood, resulting in a warm, nutty, and slightly smoky cup that’s smooth, low in caffeine, and easy on the body.
Comforting and cozy, it's your perfect evening tea or coffee alternative — no bitterness, just a roasted hug in a cup.
Origin:Yunnan Province, China (中国云南)
Type:Roasted Green Tea / Hojicha-Style (焙茶・烘炒绿茶)
Processing: Steamed/roasted at high heat to stop oxidation, then heavily pan-roasted
Aroma & Taste: Toasted rice, roasted hazelnuts, light caramel, soft wood smoke.
Mild, mellow, and naturally sweet — never grassy or bitter.
TCM-Inspired Benefits (温养茶)
In Chinese medicine, roasted green teas are seen as:
- Warming and grounding (温中养胃), especially for those who are cold-natured
- Easier on digestion (适合脾胃虚弱者) — won’t “cool” the body like standard green teas
- Calming to the mind and stomach after meals (安神助消)
- Supportive for qi circulation and gentle detox without draining energy
-
Ideal for postpartum, cold weather, sluggish digestion, and winding down at night.
